Cuddies Point to Avalanche Shelter, Loch Carron
Type of Dive: Boat dive on a boulder slope. This should not be dived as a shore dive as it would mean crossing a railway line.

You pass the Commando monument at Spean Bridge, South Clunie ridge and Five Sisters of Kintail in Glen Shiel, and Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich.
Alternatively follow the A9 to Inverness then via the A835 to Garve, the A832 to Achnasheen and finally the A890/A896.

Underwater directions: This site is about 2 ½ miles from the North Strome Ferry jetty on the south side of the Loch. You pass this site while driving to Lochcarron from the A87. This is a gentle drift dive along a boulder slope which runs for several hundred meters. The slope forms the edge of the railway line. The boulders fall to 15 to 20m and then a mud slope thereafter. Lots of small crevices in the boulder wall for life. Sea cucumbers, anemones and seapens on the mudslope. Drop in close to the slope, drop down, pick your own depth and left the current take you..
Site Hazards: Roaring noise if the train passes. Depth, as reaches 40m by 100m from the shore.
