Craggen, Loch Long
Alternative Name: Fisherman’s point; Stewart suggests Anchor reef
Type of Dive: Shingle slope and reef
Suggested Experience: Sport diver
Travel directions: If approaching from south, take A817 through Glen Fruin turning right at roundabout onto the A814 and continue north. The parking is 5.3 miles north of the Green Kettle Inn, and 0.5 miles north of the Glen Douglas road junction with the A814 (not the MOD ammunition facility of the same name). Park at a walled lay bye on the lochside of A814 or at a lay bye for 2 to 3 cars just to the north. From Arrochar – which is the better choice of route - take the A814 south and find the parking 3 miles south of the Pit Stop Diner.
Parking directions: Parking for three cars on the only lochside parking along this stretch of A814. There is a well made stone dyke that defines the lay bye. There is a further parking space for 2 or 3 cars 30m to the north opposite the loch. There are 3 green ‘X’ and a yellow ‘173’ spray painted on the barrier at this lay bye. This is the better spot as the path that goes to the entry/ exit goes over the barrier directly opposite this lay bye
From Little Chef, Milton: 26.8 miles, 45 minutes

Site entry/exit: Cross A814 from the north lay bye and follow an easy well defined path onto flat rocks. There is a shingle and seaweed beach just to LHS of rocks. Enter and exit from here.
Underwater directions: Initially there is a scree slope on entry. Drop down the scree slope. Swimming left, towards GDRE at 30m is the start of a rocky reef which continues to about 20m. At 19m on the way back from the reef is a large Admiralty anchor about 2m long (by Stewart Russell).
