Just a wee blog to let you all know how i got on at Applecross guys. Travelled up with a dive buddy, (+ partners), on Tuesday to a wee B+B just past the hotel( 3 MILES!!) and bought a pint as you do. If anyones ever been to Applecross you already know the rest. This was our first diving trip to Skye, and in fact it was 10 years since we were last here. Then we did a cycling trip round North Uist, then over to Harris cycling up to Tarbet and Scalpy. 10 of us had rented a house in Totescore and chartered the Peregrine from www.Lochaline-boats.co.uk for a weeks diving. Master Diver training dive for Alex with Charlie. Lovely calm sunny evening. Mid Ebb. Flat water. Straight down to 30m then did a shared ascent with Charlie donating alternate air supply to Alex. Slow ascent to 5m then back to 25m to continue with a dive. Same topography and sealife as two weeks ago. Lots of Moon Jellyfish being torn apart and eaten by crabs and squatties. Saw one big Conger. Arriving at Lochaline at 0930 on Friday morning, blue sky, sun shining and a flat calm sea, conditions were perfect for the start of this 4 day trip to the Small Isles. This is not a diving blog but I have just had the most fantastic 3 weeks in Canada. Despite the airport being closed on our day of departure, we were told to check in as usual. We were then bussed to Manchester. En route one of the ladies got a text from her daughter to say Manchester was being revued However we made it and were the second last flight out of there before it too was shut.
