I have edited this post as the matter is in the hands of the Police.

An unpleasant incident occurred at the divesite of the Campania in the Firth of Forth, in the early afternoon of Saturday 28th April 2007.

MC Diving with 3 guests had placed a shot on the wreck and were lying 10 to 20m off getting ready to kit up. Mark Blyth of the Dive Bunker, Burntisland appeared with a RIB full of divers. There were several minutes of verbal unpleasantness and the Dive Bunker RIB skipper lifted MC Diving's buoy onboard so that the shot drifted off the wreck. After this exchange, the Dive Bunker RIB left the divesite heading west.

Forth coastguard were contacted during the incident.

The incident has been reported to the police.

This has happened before I believe. Maybe a written report submitted to who ever grants licences, coastguard or the police about this incident is the next step forward.

Pretty dangerous behaviour by all accounts.

Since Alex has edited his post, my post does not now reflect the current reading, I have therefore removed the text.

I have nothing more to add

Just read deposit had been paid, how much was it? Personally im not to happy diving off that Rhib, i seem to recall reading previously someone else expressed an opinion that was not favourable.

I need to expand my limited vocabularly or get rid of this mild teurets syndrome............posting is getting harder.

My original post here was along the lines of 'there are two sides to every story'. I was wishing to point out that I hoped this very fine forum would stick simply to facts and not colour other readers views by writing emotional articles that are about diving businesses. Therefore my post was a little harsh with regard to Alex who obviously had a rubbish day out and who is perfectly entitled to his views.

Also, as I was not present at the time I do not think it wise to make conjectures when a report has been sent to the police.

Cheers

I think, you are right Nick.
Somebody, who doesn't know Mark could get some very wrong impressions. I am german and Mark always treated me fair. And Mark lived in Germany for a while. And the sentence "...Mark Blyth came over as an...(I won't repeat it)" is really harsh and can put people off making their own impression. Don't know if I get my point across....

Deep Seeker & Lars,

You are right in what you say that the tenor of my initial post was outrage and that that will colour what people read into it. Outrage was exactly what I felt after the initial shock of the interchange between these two dive companies settled. I stand by what I originally wrote as to my recollection of the series of events.

The revised version of events that I have reposted can be the record now.

I still wish I had stayed at home on Saturday

I've edited my original post as the Police have been informed of the incident. Both my dive buddy and I will also be writing to Historic Scotland who grant licences to dive the Campania.
