Alan and I are diving the Campania today with MC Diving. Expect a blog if we get back safe. I'll pass on this trip as I plan to spend that weekend with the family.

all spaces would now appear to be filled, still room on the subs bench if anyone else is interested.

'Heads up'
there is a couple of people on the trip who i have not met.
if you are one of these people, can you please PM me with the details of your dive experience/quallification/number of dives etc.
this ship has something to offer for everyone, from 14m down to 30m so i have no real hang-up's on your personal ability just as long as your diving to your quallification depth.
there will be no garuntee where the shot lands, but i would expect it to be around 20m.
may i suggest you take with you a good torch,DSMB/reel & a 2nd air source as a minimum precaution & be competent in using them.
i have never dived this wreck before, but from what i hear the viz can be low at times so there may be a chance of buddy seperation. should that happen you will have to be self sufficient & get yourself safely back to the shot/surface.

safe diving,

gwilson

I'll take 2 smb's and reels, oh 2 torches two just in case of any further mishaps. Might even be able to inflate a blob in 4 weeks or so time.

Stu will pay in full when I collect my recovered blob and reel back

Aaaargh. Campania is a wreck i am really looking to dive but have a day Salmon fishing on the Teith on a private beat the same date. Is a once a year if you are lucky thing so will be trying to catch fish instead of swimming with them.

OK folks
Please be at the dive bunker for 08:30am 26th May .
HW is at 11:27am, we can dive the Campainia on a flood then do the Saucy just after lunch time.
we also have the option not to dive the Saucy but do the Blae rock instead.
we can decide this on the day with a sensible vote in favour of the Saucy :D

Blae Rock is big (at least the size of a couple of football pitches) so a lot of you in the water will not change the viz there much - the west side has a pretty, vertical wall. There were a lot of particles in the water when we dived it a few weeks ago.

The Saucy was originally 47m long but the rear third/ quarter is missing due to hitting the mine and I believe there is a fair bit of silt on the wreck - I've not dived it, this is from what I've read about it. A full RIBs worth of divers might cut your viz significantly after 10 or 15 mins. It does sound like a good dive as it's in about 25m on seabed rising to 15m at top of bridge/ superstructure. Front 2/3 of the tug sound fairly intact.

Enjoy whichever you decide on :) .

I was the guy that started that thread that you are probably referring to - I edited my original post on Congeralley, YD and Scottish Divers forums as the Police are involved.

It is old ground that does not need to be redug.

Stewart and those going on this trip know what happened (or my version of what happened). So do a group from Dumbarton Scot SAC that will be on MC Diving's RIB, on the same day trying to dive the same wreck.

I assume there will be no repeat of the unpleasantness.
