View Full Version : New forum: Beryl Watch
I've created this sub-forum of <Flora and Fauna> at teh suggestion of Tomy2Tums.
Good idea TT!
Tomy2tums stroked Beryl on Tuesday night and declared; "Its like stroking a fat dog". Beryl was all round us on both Tuesday evening dives and we watched her circling another diver during our surface interval. She seemed to be as fascinated by us as we were by her.
seems like this thread has had the kiss of death on Beryl sightings.
hasnt she been seen at all in 2 months?
I would imagine that:
either the seal has left Loch Long searching a bit of rumpy pumpy or
all the sightings were at night anyway so unless you're willing to dive after 11pm there's not much chance
Let's hope that we see Beryl again. :o
i dived at the lady isle on saturday.
i could have crushed a 2p between my butt cheeks when i spotted a bull seal following us only a couple of meters away at around 17 meters.
it was (without exageration) the size of a cow, minus the legs.
the surface swim back to the boat (10 minutes due to really really bad navigation & current) was a little scarry when there was 3 or 4 of them in the water bobbing up & down & diving under us.
every time one surfaced close i managed to find the strength to double my finstroke rate.
eventually got back to the boat where we remove our kit before boarding.
my buddy kicked my leg with his fin & i let out a yelp like a 'big girls blouse', i thought it was a seal trying to get me.
its amazing the tricks your mind plays on you when you feel vulnerable.

.
Ever considered a career as a competitive swimmer?;)
I would LOVE to be able to double my kicking power, would take a huge amount off my personal best times!
Al (can fin but can't kick!)

i will happily cable-tie a dead mackerel to your cylinder & drop you in at the lady isle amongst the bull seals.
if that dont help you improve, then nothing will.:D

She was at the caves on Tue 20/11/07
Looks well fed fit and health a couple of large scares and divots in her back but it doesn't seem to affect her.
She around us for most of the dive.
