Does anyone know how to find the reef at the 5th car parking space after the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar..? According to the couple of shrimps I bumped in to (who incidentally were new to the area) said I was in the right direction and many a clappydoo has spoken of it's wonder... lies dam lies

And if so please define 5th car parking space.

Dived it twice to no avail, nothing more than silt and potentially great memories... also met many a hopeful diver looking for it, and again... nout.

You are looking for Drishaig reef. Contact Budgy via the Scottish Divers Forum (sorry for the plug) he will tell you exactly where it is. There is a reef I dived on many years ago, with parking opposite two white cottages.

Scottish Divers Forum (sorry for the plug) HTHhttp://diverzone.proboards12.com

No worries! Maybe someone from that forum would like to add a link to our Directory, under "Other Forums". And vice versa, maybe! ;)

Cheers.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for that!

How about putting a link to Scottish Divers in our directory:

http://www.congeralley.com/links/browselinks.php?c=6

You can write the description you want for the site, rather than something inadequate I would come up with

Cheers,

If one of u guys who have done Drishaig reef could do a write up for scotish divesites then the rest of us would know how to dive the site. If u cant be bothered to do the writeup take me there and I will do it for u.

I learnt of this site through Charlie Ramage from Dumbarton branch. They used to dive there as a 2nd dive after diving Furnace quarry or tea rooms etc.. For some reason in that part of Loch Fyne the viz is often bad, but there are times when it can be good. It doesn't have a big boulder slope like MOD reef, but several small ones. Go down to about 12-15m heading towards the oyster bar you'll bisect a couple of small boulder slopes go a bit deeper there's some soft mud and prawns. I did show some Eastwood divers the site a few years ago, I haven't been back there for quite some time.

Hi Budgy I think I was one of the divers, and if I remember there was not a lot there. Supose I will have to go back now and map the area. ;)
