I'm going out with MC Diving, hopefully on the Campania 28 April. I asked them straight out about their licence. This is the reply:
Dear Alex,
Thanks for asking - and somehow I knew that this subject would come up at some point. Yes, a licence from Historic Scotland is needed to take out divers to see the Campania. But those articles in Diver Mag and the Scottish Diver are incorrect in that only Mark Blyth is licenced to dive her. We also hold a licence which extends the permission to all our visiting divers. Diver Mag has already had a short notice in their March issue to put this right, Scottish Diver will follow suit with a short article in their next issue.
Please feel free to verify this with Phil Robertson at Historic Scotland. He can be contacted at: Philip.Robertson@scotland.gsi.gov.uk
Hopefully that clarifies the situation for you. Please tell us if there is anything else you need to know.
Kind regards & happy diving,
Christoph
Hope that allays anyones fears about diving with them on the Campania.
