Plans for Sunday afternoon have been cancelled so I now have some free time and thought I might spend it diving! :)

I could either meet someone at the Pit Stop at Arrochar about 3pm (Arrochar Pier, Two Piers or Conger Alley) or if anyone fancies doing an exploration there's a spot in Gourock that I would quite like to visit, it's a couple of hundred yards south of the Western Ferries terminal (that's the one used by the red tea-tray boats rather than the proper boats which use Gourock Pier).

The Gourock site has a very clean access (concrete ramp from road onto stone beach, 10 - 20 yards of clean stone then into the water).

The Gourock site is very exposed to a westerly and has a stream running into it, so I would expect vis to be poor in wet or windy, but I've never seen anyone dive it, nor have I seen it listed as a site despite easy access.

Any takers?

Al.

Yeah, that's why I want to be away from pubs, restaurants etc!

I'm looking for a nice easy couple of dives on Sunday - would you consider St Catherines?
Anybody else up for a dive on Sunday?

Do you think our drysuits would clash:cool:

midton & craigdiver in the water at the same time is energy efficient.

Just been checking weather forecast, :

Wind West, backing southwest for a time, 5 or 6 increasing 7 to severe gale 9.
Weather Occasional rain then showers.
Visibility Moderate or good.
Sea state Moderate becoming rough.

Outlook:

Wind West veering northwest 7 to severe gale 9, later decreasing 6 or 7.
Weather Wintry showers.
Visibility Good.
Sea state Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough.

Snow forecast for tomorrow afternoon as well.

I think I'll pass, given that St Cat's is exposed to westerly swell and the Rest & be Thankful could be "interesting".

Sorry! :o

Could this be a ploy to keep us at home to make breakfast for our wives? So, could God be female?:D

In which case my decision to catch the ferry to Dunoon for lunch and a couple of pints followed by ferry back then beer in the Cafe Continental in Gourock was totally justified! :)

Hic!
