Horrible, wet drive up. Arrived on-site about 18:45. Struggled to get the undersuit and drysuit on while sitting in the car, sweating like a pig by the time I was finished. Kited up and found I had forgot my fins, still hanging up in the cupboard back home. Luckily Mogwai had a spare pair with him. (Offy big spare kit box! ). Trudging along the road to the dive site we got soaked by the passing traffic with the wind blowing the rain into our face with such a force it stung! Down onto beach, buddy check, last of the kit on and into the gravy coloured water, Vis was, as expected, crap, about ½ a meter. Down to about 20 meters and turned left. After about 5 minutes of trying see each other and the bottom in the poor vis, we were joined by Berl the Seal. She stayed with us for the duration of the dive, about 30 minutes. She was using our light to help her feed. At one point she stopped about a meter away and sat on the bottom watching us, as we watched her, she sat there for a good minute, an eternity when sitting face to face with something as amazing as her. She played around us until we were frozen solid and decided to ascend. Not much life to see due to either the Seal chasing it away or the terrible vis hiding it from us.

A terrible wet, windy night saved by Berl.

Thanks,

/Colin. :D

You forgot to mention the bit where she had a hold of my fins. Was like one of those horror movie scenes where you know there is something behind you but don't want to look. Felt a tap, tug, pull on my fins. Thought to myself haven't passed anthing that i could be caught on and looked back between my legs and Beryl was lying flat on the bottom tugging away big style. Almost landed on top of Airmonster trying to get his attention to let him see. Was amazing when she sat on the bottom and stayed with us for a good few minutes, clearly curious and obviously checking us out. What a fantastic animal. Airmonster must be the lucky charm, 2 dives with him and Beryl shows twice. Am wondering if they have something going on :)

Viz was pretty mucky but cleared up a good bit after 15 mtrs. Anything above was pretty much half a meter and thicker than stewed tea :)

Awesome!

She's growing in confidence! Next she'll be joining us for a pint after the dive!

indeed she is, this could be a problem for the future where by she becomes over friendly.
pretty frequent sightings at the Caves & CA now.
