View Full Version : Furnace Quarry, B200
Furnace Quarry.
The wreck of a small fishing boat (the B200) lies below the pier at Furnace Quarry.
Lying on her port side in around 45 meters of water, covered in silt & shroud in darkness.
A personal challenge I set myself today was to shoot video on it.
Unfortunately, the silt, darkness, motor skills at depth, boisterous silica-gel & a hole in the 3rd finger of my left glove all took their toll.
First to say the video turned out to be rather lame & if I could think of any other excuses for this I would have listed them beside the others.
However, that said, you welcome to take a look anyway.

Dive no deeper than your qualification depth.
Stewart.
did you use the conger alley divesite description to dive the wreck Stew.
Like the video, a wee bit more light required though. think we have new Steven Speelberg here, cheers Stew.
The video looks great to me. :)
Particularly liked the footage of the "B200" insignia & the guest appearances by squatties & scallops!
Ding,
i didnt use the dive site guide as i have done the wreck a few times prior & before the guide was published, that said i think the guide in comaprrison is pretty accurate.
im sure you will remember the 3rd time i did the wreck Ding.
i know i wont forget it as i learned a few lessons that day & i dont like flying at the best of times!
i used a 50 watt HID video light for this project, my buddy had a 100 watt HID personal torch (greenforce), even coupled together the light seemed to fail the camera.
i think 2 x 100 watt HID lights are required for this kind of depth/darkness, but at 2k+ & this being a hobby i cant justify the outlay so we will have to make do with what we have.
charlie,
oddly enough the B200 insignia was one of the deepest parts & seemed to show up rather well, you may have noticed the 100 watt HID light enter the frame from the right, half way through, making a total of 150 watt HID just to light this small section of wreck.
just as well i'm not afraid of the dark or a new dry suit would be required!
cant wait to get out on some clyde wrecks in the near future with my new found hobby.
thanks for your comments/feedback,
stewart
