Just back from Loch Long, we were gonna dive the caves but could not get safely parked. Had a quick look over the bridge and it appears the Blue nylon rope has been cut. The last few feet between the trees at the bottom is there, but i could not see any rope from the top to the bottom.

Yeah, as Gord said the access is not too bad currently. In fact, I've never had the luxury of visiting the site when there was more rope than there currently is; on one occasion there was no rope at all but we still managed OK.
We both made it down easily enough on Thu evening despite the rapids in the culvert. Gord was certainly a bit nimbler than me with my twin 12s though! :eek:
Charlie and I dived the Caves at mid-flood yesterday evening. Viz was appalling, and not helped by my light cannon being a non-starter. Like wandering around a foggy dungeon with a candle. Beryl was there, but she just made the conditions worse. At several points during the dive she reduced the viz around us to absolute zero – you couldn’t even see your computer in front of your mask. Not so happy about that … But hey, c’est la vie. Laws of Probability dictate that you’ve gotta do your share of crud dives if you want the gooduns as well!
Yeah, but the couple of pints & chat in the Inverbeg afterwards made up for it! :D
Yeah - it was definitely a dive that required 2 pints!
