Would anyone like to go for a couple of night dives on Monday 19th Feb?

Any where will do, as long as it is cold and wet!

My 'ho has changed her mind, so Monday during the day is good (for now!)

I'm currently doing my RYA Day Skipper theory course on Monday nights but once the final exam is out the way (12th of March) I'll be up for doing some Monday night diving, depending on shifts at work.

Based in Gourock, so most Clyde-based is within reach. Not done night diving though, so would need an experienced buddy for March-early April dives.

i think there was an accident there earlier around 16:45, thats when the blue lights passed, the motorway (i see from my window) only started moving again about 19:00.
the weather looks miserable, probably best sitting with your feet up & a nice hot chocolate:D

That was me last year, so many called off for crappy east coast swells!:( Only one called off this year so far, hope that continues.

Aye, I noticed the accident as I was coming off the A80 on my way home, luckily it was on the opposite side. Noticed the traffic was queued all the way to the services at Stirling as we passed on the way up to Conger about 17:30.

A truly horrible night, trying to get your undersuit and drysuit on while sitting in the front of a car is not my idea of fun!

Dive report in Dive Blog!

Two nice dives. Nice to also meet Colin (Who I called Craig at least twice), Thanks for a loan of the weight, me being the donkey I am left my weight belt in the flat.

The conditions looked good, clear skies, sunshine, full tide, no rain for about five days, all the makings (??) of a good dive. This should be good. Stuck my head in the water, feck! could not see my knees let alone my feet!, vis was an appalling ½ meter at best. Grabbed each others BCD's and slowly descended into about 3 meters of water, vis improved to a whole whopping meter (Yee Haa!). At about 5 meters, the vis was at it's best of about 3 meters, this I could live with. Headed down and at 15 meters vis changed again, down to a meter (Oh bo**ocks!). After about 20 minutes and a maximum depth of 25 meters, I was freezing my proverbial off, set a back bearing and headed for the shore.

Not the best dive I've had. after the dive I found out I have a hole in my suit at the cuff, Ahhh!! that's why I was numb down my left side! Packed up and went round to 29 Steps where Davieg and tomy2tums were, they had far better vis than we did and it's only about 200 meters further up the loch, just my bloody luck!

Anyway, nice to meet you guys and I'm glad I could help, most of us have at one-time-or-another left a bit of kit at home so no sweat! :D

Cool. Bring your stage then cause Tommy is taking mine in for a practice and he's borrowing it for the U74 trip.

Not doing anything long or deep just a practice.

I was hoping my new one would have been here today (Yes I have turned to the Darkside and purchased an Ali 7 to go with my Steel 7) but nope, they have not sent it yet ! I'll bring it along but there's not much gas in it.

Anyone fancy Finart on Monday evening (25th January)?
looking back at the visibility report I think our best chance of good viz will be at slack water. HW is at 7.25pm, so if we go in the water about 10 past 7 ... who knows ... ?

on the assumption that no-one wants to dive with me I won't bother charging my torch tonight then ... :(
