I'm organising a one week diving trip on a liveaboard next Sept. In 2005, 4 of us went to North Red Sea, this year 12 of us went to Maldives.......hopefully next year 20.

The boat is a 44m steel hulled Platinum class - MV Tranquillity - run by Emperor Divers/ Regaldive. Cost £1079 plus £20 suppl for Manchester flight. This price includes flights, liveaboard, all meals, soft drinks, tanks and weights and nitrox. There are 7 twin and 3 master doubles. 3/4 dives per day for 6 days. Itinerary is 'Fury & Friends' so the reefs from Elphinstone south to Fury. Not Brothers, Daedalus, Rocky or Zargabad. Recommended minimum 30 dives.

This month's 'Diver' gives a write up of a similar itinerary - sounds good.

The boat should be like a floating hotel, being so long.

Depart Manchester or Gatwick Wednesday 19th Sept for Marsa Alam to meet boat - we're all going from Manchester. Last night is onshore in a hotel, then lazing by pool for the morning then home on Wednesday evening getting into Manchester in the early hours of Thursday 27 Sept. Should be back at work on the Thursday.

The 12 of us currently booked, in 5 twins and one master suite, are mostly Scottish /North of England plus a Dutch guy. We're mostly doctors but don't let that put you off as there's not much talk about work. We had a great time on the last two trips and got on well together.

Regaldive website - this is the Red Sea liveaboards. Details of the 'Fury & Friends' itinerary is here

EIGHT spaces left. If we fill the boat we get 1 1/2 free spaces so the money saved will be split equally among everyone. Please get in touch if you are interested.

i'm interested, but i do have a few questions!
1. i wont dive on a single air source, so i would require at the very least a 3 litre pony, i dont mind paying extra for this. i would rather have a 7 litre side slung giving the choice.
2.im happy to have as many doctors on-board as possibile. ;)
3. i would rather dive with a buddy who has had decompression training.
(if luck would have it, i may have a buddy to fit the bill if he is interested)
4. baggage allowance, any ideas? 20Kg is nice but slim unless you wish me to dress in a pair of thong speedo's all week. no cameras please!!!
5. how much is the deposit & when does it have to be paid by?

Cheers Stewart, I'll get back to you about the pony/sideslung. Fred Davies in our group has deco training -he might not want to do deep or deco diving as was happy enought <30m in Maldives. There may be others. Deposit £100 now( important to secure Manchester flights. Flights are with Astraeus ?I assume a charter company). We have first dibs on the rest of the spaces on the boat for a couple of months.

Alex,
i may have sounded unclear in my first response.
suggesting i would like to dive with someone who is deco trained.
by saying this i was not intending it to sound like i want to dive deep.
i only dive deep & do deco if i have good reason to, i.e. a deep wreck such as the Rossalie Moller etc.
im also happy diving to 30m or shallower.
what i probably should have asked is the level of experience within the group.
giving the choice, i would like to have an independent twin set as opposed to a side slung, if possible. as i said before i dont mind paying extra for it.
when i dived with bluefin i think they charged £20 for the extra cylinder rental for the week.
a small price to pay for my own life support.
i will probably lug along the video camera, so if we end up being an odd number then i dont mind being that odd number, after all no-one likes diving with photographers/videographers.;)
