Aquatron Dive Centre has recently been notified of a worldwide recall on a popular silicone grease lubricant. This issue has effected one regulator worldwide and the chances of this fault being replicated are extremely remote. However, as a potential fault has been found we will of course, act accordingly.
If anyone has purchased the ‘Seemann Sub’ silicone grease over the last year then please return it to the retailer it was purchased from for credit. Furthermore, as this lube has been used by us for servicing some regs, we ask that all customers who have had their regulator serviced in the last year at Aquatron (from 1st July 2009), to bring them into us for a performance check, obviously at no charge. As there is a possibility of an effect on a reg’s performance, and in the interests of safety, we will replace all performance critical parts that could be effected.
We would like to reassure all customers that this recall is precautionary and despite the fact that we have had no reports of any problems with the regs we have serviced, we have to take the most prudent approach.
I hope this has helped clarify the situation and if anyone has any further questions on the matter then please let me know.
Kind Regards
