I've read and heard a bit about this shallow (in something like 4 to 8m), 23m barge in Tol Nam Muc south of Carrick Castle. It is shown on the Chart of Loch Long and Loch Goil. Gaelic translation of the name of the bay is 'The pig's hole' or perhaps 'The swine hole'. Has anyone dived it? I know that some of the Dumbarton Scot SAC club have and I'll talk to them about it shortly. What's it like to dive on? Anyone know transits? History? etc
Gordon Ridley has it as a shore dive over a track from the farm with the barge 150m directly north of the grassy headland that forms the east rim of Tol Nam Muc bay.

I haven't dived it, but in my younger days, we used to go to a Clyde Cruising Club muster in a place called Swine Hole every year - it was in that area so I presume was the same place.
dived it years ago but it was from the club rib, from memory it,s a private track at the end of the carrick castle road a good dive thouigh from memory
Last dived it 20 years ago, it is like diving in a skip. Will look through old logbooks for the exact location.

Have to agree with BikerBill. It is like diving a skip.I dived it few years ago from a RIB and wasnt too impressed. I shore dived it last summer on a glorious summers day when the water had that beautiful blue colour. Sadly it didnt have that same quality below.:( viz was pretty poor and there was a right current as the Loch emptied out into the Clyde estuary. There's not much to see.The best description is if you've dived the barges at Brackley Point Loch Striven...well it's the exact same. If you poke about a bit you might find the odd conger or octopus but other than that not really worth it.Tons of clappy doos on the sea bed though. Hell of a walk as well!! Its listed in Gordon Ridelys book Dive Scotland et al....
Good Luck!!!
