Atlantic Divers have done 2 charity events for Cash for Kids over the past few years and raised a fair bit, Glasgowbudda who is a member will be doing a sponsered charity swim.
All members of Conger Alley who donate to his good cause will get there names put into a hat and 2 will be drawn out.
These two winners will then get a 1 hour classroom orientation and then spend an hour in the pool diving the unit under my supervision....Unless your scared:o;)
Thanks for supporting a good cause:thumbup1:
I'l donate to it, seems a good cause, how do i go about it?
Donation in yesterday

C.mpm guys less than a week to go to the Great Swim. Donations have been quite poor.
Looks like its a toss up between the Granny's and Billy Broon for the rebreather dive.
Okey Dokey - I'm in as well now :O)

I would probably not make a try-dive, so, I would not mind the two grannies having a wee shot with rebreathers ;) C'moan the Grannies :D

Not that we are trying to take away the importance of the swim, but.....!!
I am rooting for you both too.:D:D

The Buddha is fecking knackered.
Arms, shoulders and upper body have done 15 rounds with Mike Tyson.
1 mile = 1600m or 1.6km.
Into the freezing water at 2pm. At the 400m stage the weather turned and it was pissing and the wind was howling. Water got a bit choppy.
At 800m, knackered tread water for a moment to regain my breath
At 1000m or 1km a rescue boat passed in front of me, took a lung full of diesel fumes that left me coughing and spluttering, but when the swell from its wake passed over me I was done for. Didn't have the energy left to fight it.
Don't have a dry suit or BCD to inflate out there so was fished out the loch at the 1km stage.
600m to go and I was finished, but the fumes and the gut full of Strathclyde Loch in my lungs just finished off my challenge.
Angry at myself for not treading water until I got my breath and bearings, which would have allowed me to finish. The incident with the rescue boat physically drained me.
Sitting here typing this and my arms are so sore.
Anyway, Cheers to everyone that supported me, much appreciated.
