Did two dives at this site today with Allan Woods and buddies. Divesite description to follow. It is a well known site and probably has other names.
Plenty of lochside parking - just as well as there were 8 cars at midday.
Easy entry and exit. Reef is triangular being widest where it is deepest. It runs from >40m to about 16m and peters out into individual boulders on a sandy bottom at 8m. Similar size and slope of boulders to Conger Alley and similar sealoch life. Lots of small life but nothing big.
Viz about 6m and Temp 12 degrees
Dives were 41m max for 57 minutes and 26m max for 39 minutes.

Hi Alex,
Interested to read that you were diving today with Allan, Allan was my dive instructor last week at loch long for the PADI AOW navigation course and I thought he was first class, hope he can take me for the remainder of the training.
Would it be possible once I finish this course to go on a fairly simple dive with yourself and start to broaden my experience?
I'm at the stage right now that I'm constantly thinking about being in the water and can't wait for the next time I get wet. Just needing now to meet more in the diving community and from what I've read think you guys at conger alley are the best there is.
Planning to have all my own dive gear within the next fortnight.
Also following on from a thread previously I think it would be great if we could have some form of identification of conger alley people so we can spot each other when we are out at dive sites.
Thanks Alex and hope we can meet soon.
Regards
Brian

Hi, I was also diving at St Catherines yesterday (Sunday 5th Nov 06). We were at the council yard and slip in St Catherines and also experienced the lack of marine life. Were you on the other side of Loch Fyne (seen lots of cars parked on the way round to St Catherines) opposite St Catherines?

Hi Craig,
We were diving about a mile and a half apart.
St Catherines 3 Reef is about a mile and a half past the Road Depot divesite. Drive through St Catherines and once you're past the village look for a dirt track that turns off to the right. It goes on for about half a mile right beside the lochside. St Catherines 2 reef parking is close to the start of this track. St Catherines 3 reef parking is just before the white house ( at Creg a' Phuill) - you can see the track and house if you look at a 1:25 000 multimap of just south of St Catherines.
