View Full Version : BSAC Marine ID Course at Millport in July
I see Rosanna Milligan is running a Marine Biology ID course (http://www.wildoceanphotography.com/news12867.html) for the South of Scotland BSAC region at the University Marine Biological Station Millport.

I would love to do that course. Unfortunately I guess 'course not open to members of the public' includes SSAC divers :(

Email her and find out why. It's not common policy for BSAC to exclude other diving agency members from their courses. Usually, to be included on the course, non-BSAC members would simply pay an extra fee (which gives temporary membership to the non-member) and all's well. I hope that this "exclusion" is only meant to apply to non-diving members of the public as it does involve two dives. (You'd be surprised at how many Joe Publics think these courses are a cheap and easy way to get diving ...).
Cheers DT
I've e-mailed and she is going to find out if non BSAC divers can go.
hey folks,
not been on here in a while and just saw this thread. I've been told the course is open to divers from any organisation, as long as you're sports diver equivalent, and are happy to joing BSAC with a temporary membership :) I wrote that post on my website before I'd found out the details... Should probably update it!
