View Full Version : Deep down Loch Fyne
A good article in diver about diving in loch fyne diving on a charter boat from Tarbet. The boats called Little Blue, and it sounds like it could make a great weekends diving. All the great sites you have to walk through forests to get to would be great again. :D

Sounds good. Are you volunteering to arrange it?

Ding, I did post on this same article in Diver magazine (see below) a couple of weeks ago and you did reply to me  I agree with Claire, do you fancy organising a WE trip sometime on the Little Blue?
There is a good writeup of diving the Arran III, Margaret Niven, The Garden and Moyle rock in lower Loch Fyne. Diving was from MV Little Blue out of Tarbert. Written up by Mike Clark in the October 2006 Diver Magazine.
Good to see local sites in the national press :) .
Makes me want to go for a WE trip there sometime this winter

WE trip sounds good to me, or even a day trip. Tarbert's a nice place to stay too, though it has got a lot to answer for; it's where I met gas guzzler.
OK I'l look into a dive on MV Little Blue
Get back to u
You can put me down for a space
,dependant on dates and cost.
Cheers.Ian Allan

My diary is already pretty full so I might need to pass.
Only weekends free are 25th & 26th November and, better, 16th and 17th December - this is a bit close to XMAS and I think my buddy is away somewhere warm. Could always go Jan/Feb of next year.
alex
November is not great for us either. December is ok, but Jan/Feb would be good too (but not 26th jan - 4th feb as we're in the carribean).
The little blue is fully booked for november and I'm not sure for myself on december...so its next year...
i tried to book little blue at this time last year, to no avail.
i think he takes december, january & febuary off.
send him an email for definate dates, in return he will send you a promo VCD.
all good fun.

Just a wee note about the boat you are talking about. 6 weeks ago me and a coupla mates were shore diving the Arran 111 wreck from Barmore island. as we were swimming across to the island MV Little Blue turned up with a load of English wahoos onboard.Despite the skipper seeing us on the surface and then seeing us drop in next to the wreck he motored his boat right up over us. I wasnt impressed to say the least:mad: It would appear that this skipper is like the majority of guys with boats who are arrogant enough to think that they have a god given right to a dive site coz they have paying customers onboard regardless if it means potentially endangering other divers.
Its just another charter that I'll cross out of my book when it comes to hiring a boat for the weekend.
Sounds a right plonker think i would give him a miss as well .
Out comes the little black book.
