View Full Version : Lochaline Dive Centre sponsors Conger Alley
I'm happy to report that Lochaline Dive Centre has joined Aquatron, Puffin and ITDA as sponsors of Conger Alley. I know that Mark and Annabel Lawrence, who have been running the LDC for a couple of years now, have been putting a huge amount of effort into refurbishing and upgrading the facilities and services on offer there.

The accommodation has been overhauled in a big way and there is now a full time chef on site offering great value breakfasts, lunches and evening meals.
And then there's the new boat!

Yes they are first class. I done a Trimix course up there a few years back and they gave me the run of the place .....plus there compressor and booster pump.......and that was the first place I dived with Eastwood...met gord and Helen that weekend....maybe 8 years back:)
Excellent
Had many a drunken night at the Lochaline Dive Centre and Post Office :D
Eastwood are going back up in June. Only dived from the Silver Swift before. Looking forward to Lochaline !!

not had the pleasure of diving with LDC yet, looking at getting a weekend up there with the Stirling Uni lot. the new boat looks fab!!
Just done a weekend trip with Glasgow south upto Loch Aline Dive Centre, the boat was fantastic, and HONESTLY one of the best things ever was the BOAT LIFT:eek::eek::D many a happy fat diver getting lifted out of the water ,no stress no hassle. The old post office was fantastic a slight problem was that somebody had set up a couple of buzz saws in the same room or it might have been my diving buddies.
The boat was very spacious and no probs for moving about, nice stable platform for those liable for the old sea sick routine even in a lumpy sea..
The penultimate end to the weekend was land at duart castle, swimming ashore for for a spot of tea and carrot cake(very civilsed)and then back onto the boat for one of the best dives of my life ,with permission onto the swan for a fantastic potter at 12m for roughly 35-40 mins:D:D look but dont touch was the name of the game and it was worth it.Mark and Dave were fantastic on the boat ,to fill the cylinders up you just tie them onto the rack and the extra long hoses reach over so no problems having to strip down B.C.Ds and then re-attach them again .
Anybody going up there will have a great time

God this Glasgow South crowd don't get any better. If it's a cromwellian wreck then it's 17th century boyo (sorry turned a bit welsh there). Civil War was in the 1640's (1642 - 51) me laddo so them cannon ain't as old as you thought so I'll give you 5 quid for the lot. :D
PS yeah have been fired a couple of times (at my bloody clan chiefs hoose) he still has some of the cannon balls embedded in his walls.
Just to let you know we went a bit james bond on your clan chief,
jumped of the boat swam ashore walked up the beach and started dekitting,After getting normal clothes on we walked past the a very nice old gentleman said hi and cheekily asked "when they were going to finish building the place?" he took it in good humour and wandered off the little woman in the cafe asked if we had seen the the clan chief as he just left (:eek: doh)i think that may be the last time im allowed back there again,
My History is Naff but my Geography is fantastic and cant wait to dive the outer hebrides again:D
