Saw this at Midway on Loch Long was wondering if anyone knew what it was called

If you touch a line it contracts into the hole...

It's a strawberry worm - Eupolymnia nebulosa. If you touch the tentacles they retract, it thinks it's caught food... poor wee thing!!

you see them quite often...


I think the tube is a secretion that it lives in. The worm is red, and can very rarely be seen out walking.

They are most obvious when there are a few of them, and the tentacles are all over the place...

seen these many times, get lots around the 'caves'.
first time i actually knew what they were,
