Drove up from my work last night and arrived at the A Frames about 18:20. I knew my buddy would not arrive until about 19:00 so I sat at the waters edge with a flask of coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere. The site was empty. I expected at least a few divers to be there. It was slowly getting dark with the sun setting over the mountains, no wind, no midges! and 'nice and quiet'. I sat and listened to the birds singing their evening chorus and watching them skim low over the water feeding. I was then joined by an Otter playing in the water, diving down and catching fish, then returning to the surface, lying on it's back and eat it's catch.
It's time like this that you appreciate the scenery on our doorstep. All too often we take this sort of thing for granted. A large attraction of the diving is getting out to such beautiful places.
Eventually my buddy arrived and we moved up to the 29 Steps. A good easy dive with plenty of life. After reading some of Dings dive reports, I've found I was paying more attention to the smaller life. When you pay attention, you realise how much life is around you.
A very enjoyable night!
