Ok I'm bored at work, here's another rarity...
Who's seen a Triggerfish and where? I found one wedged in a crevice on Calve Island near Tobermory a few years ago, got the shock of my life :eek:
And a mate found one at Ardtornish Point near Lochaline last year.Also heard of a few being spotted at Camas Mor on Muck although I havn't seen one there.

I've had several "run-ins" with Triggerfish, but only in Australia. In fact, I'm rather appalled that I might come across one while diving in Scotland... although according to MarLIN (http://www.marlin.ac.uk/species/balistescapriscus.htm), the chances are pretty low.
Seriously though, I'm looking forward to another life-or-death struggle - is the Grey Triggerfish prone to unprovoked attacks on divers?

I saw my buddy fight a Titan Trigger Fish on a dive in Sodwana Bay last year. It was a good scrap. We duly retreated and lived to dive another day. I found it hilarious.
I once jammed a welding rod in the mouth of a Moray Eel because I could not get my work done. I must stress that the eel was not harmed and it scarpered once we free'd it
