Decided to do this as I usually spend a fair bit of time thinking about topography - comes from doing a lot of dive site guides.
Like all good courses, it tends to go over same stuff a bit but by the end of the day it is pretty clear what and how they want you to record on the forms.
I could quite quickly fill in a form after each dive. It is primarily about the underwater topography (rocky reef. boulders, sand, mud, barren sediment etc). You can put in as much or as little of ID of individual animals as you like.
Enjoyed the day then did a couple of 'Seasearch' Dives the next day.
I would encourage anyone who is keen on recording aspects of our underwater natural history to get in touch with Owen or Chris who run the local courses
