hey folks

im on the lookout for a Ikelite underwater housing for my sony pc1000 camera, theve stopped making them and i dont wanna spent 2 grand on a gates housing.

any1 got any ideas where i might get one?

ive tryed all the usual places like ebay and cameras underwater ect.

Could you not contact the ikelite people. Maybe they would know where you might get one.:)

birchley make a universal range of lightweight injection moulded housings.
i have one which is rated to 40m, took it to about 46m a few times and still ok.
the newer housings have electronic reed switches that you just stick on your operational buttons of the camera.
think they come in at around £300+
if 40m is deep enough, then they are much cheaper than gates housings, a lot lighter and easier for traveling.

They are in Taiwan but I have used them before and the service is second to none, my gear arrived within 3 days. Totally recommend them.

If its not the video then they may be able to help anyway, e mail them they are very helpful.

thanks guys and gal for the advice. i think ill wait a week or so till the pound gets a little better then go for it dave.
