I'm organising a Bo'ness club trip to Scapa Flow from the 5th - 12th of May 2007. This will be a live-aboard on the MV Karin moored at Stromness in Orkney at £250 per person including air. Trimix and Nitrox are available onboard at a supplement. The week will consist of wreck diving in and out of the flow dependant on weather conditions. Usually we do deeper dives in the morning (30-45m) and shallower ones (10-25m) in the afternoon. The cabins are basic but clean and have heaters and plug points for charging torches etc. There is a hot shower and 2 toilets on board also. You should be qualified to a minimum of SSAC Sport Diver/ PADI advanced Open Water (or similar) with good SMB deployment skills.

I will be opening this trip to Conger Alley members on the 1st November 2006 to give my club members a chance to get in first. Put your names up if you feel you'll be interested. £80 deposit is required confirm your place.

Thanks for thinking of us Fiona - I probably can't go as I'm only allowed (or allow myself) one week away from the family to dive. I'm arranging a liveaboard trip to the Southern Red Sea in September for my buddies :) .

Cheers Fiona.

Sounds like a brilliant trip! Some of us were up there last year on MV Sunrise. Could've easily stayed 2 weeks.

That Scottish Divers lot are badgering me into organising a trip to Scapa next year. What was the MV Sunrise like? Or can anybody recommend a decent liveaboard or whatever. Any info would be appreciated and of course, if it goes ahead I will advertise spaces on here too.
Cheers

Hi Bill,

I would recommend the Sunrise unreservedly. Great skipper, comfortable berths, nice covered dive deck etc.

It was Ian Allan who organised this trip for us. You might want to pm him for more details.

cheers,
