Saw this Lumpsucker on the Cathedral Rock trip.
Worth a post I thought as they are not that common.
OAIWA?
Almost certainly a male , left to guard the eggs while the girl fish swans off down to TK MAXX or such like to spend his hard earned money.
No doubt she will return some time later laden down with loads of stuff she doesn't even need while piously declaring 'how much she has saved'.
Sorry its not very good , but I had been holding the kelp back for Peter and Jennifer to have a look and was rushing to get anything as they had all swam off and left me !!
Maybe I should take a hint :O)

You never let on about that one!! So that is what you were doing when you were supposed to be following me :)

I have seen one in the kelp in that area before, wonder how times its been kicked by a fin??

Well if I'm truthful I only found it because I had tumbled into the kelp as I swam backwards while filming the pan shot of 'the great migration' :O)
The poor wee fish must have been a bit stressed by it , but there was no way it was abandoning its eggs.
I had never seen one before , so it was a wee treat.

Wonder what they taste like ?

;)

Good video. Jennifer and I did see it when you pointed it out, but despite trying I didn't get it on video and had to give up as I was scared of being left behind in the Great Cathedral Rock Race.
