View Full Version : SDI solo diver course
As most folk know, I'm into my solo diving.
There is however, a chance of completing the SDI Solo Diver course.
Anyone else heard of this?

I know someone that did the SSI Solo Diver course when he was in Thailand. Didn't know SDI/TDI offered this.
I remember he found it useful for thinking more specifically about how can get himself out of problems without relying on a buddy and enhanced his dive planning skills, but wasn't necessarily convinced these courses qualify you to dive on your own.
A solo diving course? With an instructor!

been around for a long time, originated in America when buddies started taking each other to the cleaners if anything went wrong (i believe).
most TDI training (the tech side of SDI) is training to be a solo diver but as part of a team, a much safer way of doing it, but then the dives are more critical in every aspect than a 30m solo sport dive.
