View Full Version : Emergency First Response Course.
We will be running an Emergency First Response Course at Aquatron on Saturday the 2nd of August. The EFR course is a pre-requisite for the Rescue Diver course and should be renewed every 2 years. There have been some alterations in the programme in the last year, so you may wish to update your skills. If you are interested please phone the shop on 0141-429-7575 or email us at info@aquatron.co.uk.
The "special" congeralley price including manual and certification is £85.
Out of interest, is there a refresh option, its a been a few years since I completed mine and I know you are supposed to do it every two years, but it is the full EFR every couple of years??
Hi Chris, in my experience people normally repeat the full course. This brings them up to date on any changes in the course (there have been changes to a couple of key elements of the course within the last two years). Furthermore, keeping your practical skills fresh is definitely beneficial, as hopefully you haven't had much practice. If you're interested in doing a refresher I can check out the exact requirements and get back to you?

Bloody hell - a cheeky hijack Loudy, but £35 certainly raises the bar here!
Hi Chris, I checked up on the exact standards this morning. A refresher would consist of revising skills and development and resitting the exam, followed by re-certification. Realistically this would mean that you would be completing the entire course. This Saturdays course will be going ahead and there are still spaces available. The plan is that Aquatron will be running an EFR course EVERY first Saturday and a NITROX course EVERY last Saturday of the month, to allow people to plan ahead. Hope this helps you out. D

And £45 for Nitrox ----hmmmm-------interesting
Nitrox should eb cheap everywhere as you no longer require to actually do a dive anymore.

The SAA have just downgraded the course to local level so we should be able to run courses for our members for the cost of the manual and tables.:)
Used to be a regional course requiring instructors to be brought up from England at great expense.
