In defense of our LDS

Further to recent postings I'd like to take take time to show just how handy our LDS's can be.

After flogging the twin 10's I've been trying to source a decent set of cylinders on-line this week. Was initially looking at 300 bar mainfolded 7's, but was getting info back with manufacture dates of 2006 etc. So decided to get 2 unmanifolded 232 bar 12's that I plan to dive singly for potters or band up as an indi 12 rig when the need demands (Kintyre, B200, etc etc). 1 call to Aquatron at lunch time and 2 12's filled and sitting waiting for me at the back of 4 with 2008 manufacture dates. None of that flaffing about with on-line retailers posting kit out that doesn't show etc. Now the next dilema Buddy Twinning bands or stainless? :D

Thank you Mr Flibble, it's nice to get a compliment. Twas I you spoke to on the phone and our fearless leader Chris that filled them for you. Think we might have stainless steel and buddy cam bands in stock as well (if not we can order them for you) once you make your decision. Happy Diving D

It's a fantastic resource to have a good LDS. I was always glad to have Aquatron, FYM etc. nearby when I was in Scotland & Divers' Warehouse in Bradford were great when the family were in Yorkshire (doing free alterations on my Otter Suit etc.) :cool:

Shame they're all a bit far away now. :eek:


BTW, Mr F, I use the indie 12 set up with Buddy bands & it is great! :D

Yep think I'll go the Buddy bands route. Easier to swap out cylinders and kinder to the tank walls. Continually removing steel bands would scrape that lovely shiny paintwork. :D Oh and being Buddy they have bombproof build quality. Oh and are cheaper than steel bands. :D

Just been reading an interesting thread on YD about indies or manifolded. Started off good with sound reasons for both ways then quickly degenerated into a bun fight, it's currently running at about 2 million pages. :D
