What do you think of the structure of Conger Alley? Are there too many forums? Is it confusing? Should we simplify or consolidate it (i.e. have less forums)?

I reckon 15 boards is pretty much the limit, but i reckon there should be more clarity over what the boards are meant for... perhaps have a 'read me first' post or a board announcement or something pinned at the top. They do in fairness seem quite clear to me, but some people appear to have issues!!
i do think certain individuals have a tendency to ramble on and on in the wrong boards and basically make them overlap which makes it a tad confusing.
another thing that kind of annoys me is 'thread hijacking' why don't people just post a new thread if they want to talk about something completely different from what the thread was talking about?!?!?
it was fine in the beginning when it was 'just us' as it were, but i think now there is way more members, and posts, and boards and stuff it just sort of needs tightened up a bit.
anyway folks..

I suppose one of the tasks of moderators in these forums is to move threads to where they're supposed to be ...
For example, if a moderator sees a thread about photography developing in Jimmy's, they can just move the thread into Photography. This will also leave a redirect in Jimmy's in case anyone goes there looking for that thread.
Ah shall noo demonstrate, by moving the off Topic thread from Off Topic into Admin ... ;)

You must have read my mind Gordon, as I was thinking yesterday that the post i started as a warning about the oil leak at Conger seems to be going on and on , with no relation to the oil leak!:confused:

OK, coming soon. I have acquired the software and just need to install it ...
I installed it yesterday on the golf forum, but am not 100% happy with it. Some issues to iron out. Once it's ready, i'll install it here. Probs next weekend. I can tell you though that it looks pretty coool.
