Perhaps stage 2 of the "what's in my kit box" thread should be "why what's in my kit box is there".

Good idea!

Let's try one for an experiment:

(I'm the one on the left)

15L and Pony. That's it. Any thoughts on how I could improve my set-up?

btw, I'm just sorting it out when this photo was taken. You can't see my regs but basically:

main reg comes over right shoulder;
octopus comes under right arm and sits near sternum;
pony reg comes under left arm and secures to grey clip you can see below my right shoulder

I would suggest that you might see more underwater if you get yourself a mask :D

The two pressure guages together look a bit awkward.
Any real reason for having the pony under the left arm as opposed to the right. (I only ask as I have it on the other side, I am assuming you have the pony clamped to that side too)

As promised on Chris's thread...

Why have a gauge on your pony?

That might solve my visibility problem!

The two pressure guages together doesn't bother me (although see below re LL's comment). The pony reg comes that way because I've always done it like that and expect it to be there ... I also never confuse regs that way ... But fair comment.

Why indeed. Good call. Maybe I'll just get a little valve guage at some point.

I'm not a fan of triple consoles. Big clunky ugly things. I've got my depth gauge and compass on my wrist now. Much nicer and a lot less hassle to use. Does wonders for you navigation skills :D
