I just noticed that my signature had been changed.

If someone is just pissing about then fine, but at least have the balls to tell me.

Secondly, if signatures can be changed then Private Messaging can be read, but then again you should really know that anyway.

I've raised this with the other mods. Was it changed to an older signature or was someone obviously taking the piss?

PM's are completely safe*. Not even Gord can access them.

*unless you happen to know a hacker with a grudge

the ", not Safety" part was removed.

and yes, I do know someone that has been "hacking" since they were very young.

and no, I do not belive PMs are total safe

PS. nothing that is "electronic", is safe.

I agree with this completely and try my best to not put anything online that I dont want online, particularly in PM's on forum's.

Although, is a website any safer than your paper recycling at home or even your filing cabinet locked in your house?? A thief will get their hands on your stuff if they really want to, no matter what you do to protect it.

I've been told by admins on another forum that PM's can be read with a bit of effort. I wouldn't bother with mine, they are generally filth and offensive jokes.

I had my avatar changed on Rebreatherworld without my permission... just because it contained quite a lot of swearing :D

Ironically, Deeparmchair is totally unmoderated and was meant to be a forum for free speech but it gets only a handful of messages a week.

Regarding PM's -
vbulletin is driven by an SQL database. So everything is in there somewhere. But I've no interest in going looking through the database for people's private messages. There is no admin function for this so you'd need to search the database manually. I'm the only person who can do this and a) I respect people's privacy so the only reason I'd ever do it is if the police asked me to, and b) I've no time or interest in doing it.

Regarding your sig change -
I've no idea - I certainly didn't change it. If one of the mods did, could that person please contact me by PM? Thanks.
