Hi folks.
A couple of weekends ago I was on a trip organised by Edinburgh club Deep Blue Scuba (www.deepbluescuba.co.uk) to dive on the west coast.
We met the dive boat at Lochaline on Saturday, and did our first dive on the Shuna in the Sound of Mull. Lovely wreck dive, but amazing ascent as we got buzzed by a Dolphin! Back on the surface, 3 dolphins played around the boat and divers in the water for more than 30 minutes.
The diving around the small isles was just spectacular. Generally good vis (mostly 10m plus) combined with abundant life and beautiful scenery both above and below water, and glorious sunshine most of the time, meant that I had some of my favourite UK dives!
I'm not going to enumerate at length everything we did and saw, but I would recommend it to anyone!
If you're interested, there are photos at www.cyclops-online.co.uk, although I am not sure they are up to the standards usually posted here!
Ian
P.S. Any corrections on species identifications very welcome!
