View Full Version : Possible disruption

Just some advance notice: over the next couple of weeks I want to do some work on the site, including upgrading the version of the forum software to the latest one. I will also therefore need to install new versions of the gallery and the directory. If all goes well you won't notice a thing, apart from maybe the odd increase in funkyness here and there. But i never underestimate my ability to balls stuff up (hence no rebreather for me, as previously stated).

Any disruption is likely to occur next weekend, but I may make a start one or two evenings during the week.

Anyway, hopefully you won't notice anything, but if you do (e.g. the forum becomes an inaccessible tattered mess for a few days), please bear with me. It'll come out in the wash. I hope.:o

Cheers.

Did I say "tattered mess" .... ?
I'm afraid that was a slight understatement

Anyway, I think i owe you guys a wee update.
I've spent most of today trying to get a new version of the bulletin board software running properly on the server and talking to the database. I thought it would be easy, but it wasn't, and basically caused all kinds of distruption, including completely trashing our distinctive "conger alley blue/black" theme. Anyway, the photo gallery is still out of action but it's nearly 2 in the morning and i've had my fill for one day. Everything else appears to be working ok.

You won't actually notice anything special for all this. The reason I wanted to update to the latest version was so that any upgrading work i do in the autumn won't be on an old version which will then need to be updated again in the future if you know what i mean. Anyway ... looks mostly ok now.

Yawn. i'm off to ma bed.

Cheers m'deers.

Hi Gord

I think the "new posts" link which was at the top of each thread has gone missing.
