Here comes a new forum about training.

Diving in Scotland can be a bit hairy at times, so training is uber-important.

Discuss it here :)

Well, tried it out last week!

Alas i never managed. Was rescuing Sharon - just couldnt get off the bottom and then when i did Sharon's computer took a flaky and started beeping! So i aborted that before the ascent continued/got faster.

Was actually going to talk to you about it on Friday to see what i was doing wrong - my Dad was not much use really! He just said i have to push off the bottom. Might try rescuing Alex tomorrow for practise.

Practise makes perfect i suppose!

Any tips on the Rescue anyone?
Cheers,

Gord

Yes John, we currently have about 19 in our club it is the lack of B.I.s that is keeping them back

a rather high ratio of trainees you have there.
think we have around the same number of members, think we have around 5 trainees/newly quallified divers at present.

We have a hard core of about 40 divers plus 8 novice divers under going training. We also have 6 new trainees scheduled to start novice training end of Jan 07.
The problem we have is holding onto the new divers once they complete the club diver qualification.

We have about 18 or so members who have been in the club five years or more. The ones who leave and new members are usually much the same in number. I sometimes send emails if people haven't been for a while to see if there is any reason or any problems. Lets them know we are interested in them. Some reply, some don't but cest la vie!
