My housing is winging it's way back to me :D

New rear cover (and control check) - $90
Shipping - $46
Import tax - Don't know yet
Not securing the cover properly and having it bounce off the the tarmac - priceless :o

Oh and don't forget the Royal Mails latest money making scheme.
In order that your delivery is not delayed in customs , they will pay the import duty / VAT for you , isn't that nice of them.
And they only charge you £15 for the privelige.
Oh and not forgetting that they hold onto the package until after you have paid THEM , so its not as if you actually get it any quicker than if you had to pay the customs duty directly.
And we think they are stupid..........!

DHL charged me £21 Import/D for an item that cost £55 and £25 postage from Hong Kong.:( I thought Id slipped the net but got the bill in the post a week later. DHLs service charge was £1.50

Never buy anything from abroad that costs £55!

In this instance the item should have cost £2.95 and the package, postage, handling and insurance should have been £77.05! What sort of seller are you using that doesn't know that!

I only buy "gifts" from abroad!

Such "gifts" have included digicam batteries, memory cards, remote control shutter release etc!

It's good to "give" especially when receiving!

I hope you have , my experience is that Couriers bill you later however.
Sorry , just remember the shinyness will remain long after the pain of the import tax has been forgottten :O)

JB is right, they sometimes bill you later and add an extra £15 on to your bill for the privelage of them opening it and repackaging it just to make sure whats marked on the outside is whats on the inside.
but they are really looking for drugs.

No sign of tampering and fingers are crossed :D

I won't have it out on Thursday as I'm sorting out my weight for my 12's for the Port Napier trip :)
