Hiya
BSAC offer a 2-day 'marine biology' course which involves learning the basics of ID and an intro to marine ecology along with a couple of dives to get hands-on practise. I've been considering wondering whether it would be worth running one, but I'm not sure if there's a lot of interest... I'm not sure if you'd have to be BSAC, but assume not for the time being.

So, would anyone be interested?

I would. I've been wanting to do the Glasgow Uni one for a while - but don't have a spare week's holiday to do the residential trip to Cumbrae.

There is a Scotsac Marine Biology course too - but no details of it on the web - does anyone know if this would count?

Cool, that's a start!
I'd personally be happy to run a course for anyone interested, but I'm BSAC qualified myself, so if it was going to be accredited, it would be through them. It'd probably be a weekend on cumbrae at the marine station if I could get it sorted since they've got decent facilities for something like this.

I definetly would. I'm doing an open Uni course in Envionmental studies at the moment and would love to do some marine biology related stuff.
