All this bad weather has me planning my next blue warm water dive trip. I can't stretch to the Maldives this year, so it looks like a trip to the Red Sea. I am a bit sick of Sharm as I have been so often but fancy Hurghada or Marsa Alam.

Never been to Hurghada but fancy it because it close to the wreck graveyard of Abu Nuhas and I have always wanted to dive that. Any one done it?

I did Marsa Alam last Feb and can't recommend it enough. Loads of big stuff. Even Oceanic white tips and Hammerheads at certain times of the year.
It’s a lot quieter that Sharm but in my opinion the diving's better.

I strung a few clips together of last year's trip for those of you that might fancy going and want a taster. Apologies for the poor quality of the clips. Video is not my thing and my editing is poor. Also the camera was not set up for vid, I didn’t even fit my red filter or do a white balance, I just enjoyed the dives pointing the camera at whatever.

Any Red Sea recommendations would be welcome if any of you have had gooduns in the past.

I will post links to the clips as they upload to YT. It may take a while.

Elphinstone reef is a must for any experienced diver. The vid does no justice to this magical place. Missed photographing half the best stuff as I was slack jawed trance like in awe. :o

P.S the dive centers won't let you dive Elphinstone less than AOW with 50+ logged dives. It can be a deep dangerous place, three divers including their guide died last year.
