I cuoldn't do that sunday - family commitments. But how about doing it as a Thursday evening night dive? Maybe the first of the autumn? Although i suppose that only suits the weegies. What about Sunday the 1st of October? That might be enough time ahead.

Thursday evening night dive?
Hi Guys,

It is a great idea for a conger alley get together at conger alley, however it is a 3-4 hour drive for me to get there so as not to exclude the conger alley members that do not live on it's doorstep, it would be, in my own opinion, more suitable at a weekend.;)

Kind Regards

O.k. looks like we've got some interest. Gord suggested Sunday 1st October and that would give those that live a little further away a chance to join in.

Would love to attend a "Conger Alley" dive, Unfortunately, it's my daughters 5th birthday on the 1st of October. It was a difficult decision, birthday or dive, birthday or dive, but I think my wife would have my b*lls if I went. Hopefully this will become a regular thing, as it would be nice to put faces to the names.

Any Thursday night would suit though!

Hey, Airmonster (scary pair of arms on Avatar - Marine Grunt?? - luv the smell of napalm in morning look) I understand the dilemma. i'll just be back from Maldives on Sunday - might not dive but just go for a pint (I live 30 mins from arrochar - hope to keep my b**ls after a week away from Susan & Kids)

If I remember correctly, This photo was taken at Anchor Point on a lovely summers day. In between dives. I was trying to stop the suit from landing at my feet! (Not a pretty sight) :o

Hi DG The picture next to your name is called an Avatar. First you need to have a suitable image The maximum size of your image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). .jpg or .gif are probably the best formats. Then goto "User CP" from the top menu to enter the Control Panel.

On the left hand side of the control Panel click on "Edit Avatar"

In the Custom Avatar section check the option "Use custom Avatar"
Then at the bottom you will see an option upload your image from your local computer. Click on the "browse" button to the right and locate your image the click "Open".

Hopefully that should be you.

Thanks for the tech support, Eddie. :)

btw, DG, you can use the FAQ button to access this kind of info on how to use the forum and get teh most from it. There is a bit about Avatars: http://www.congeralley.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_user_maintain#faq_vb_avatar_how

I'd definitely be up for a Conger Alley dive sometime: sounds like fun! :)

Hopefully will be able to make it on the date suggested, but would also be up for an evening meet: any excuse! ;)

Some of you go for regular night dives during the week, is that right? I'd be keen to tag along sometime if that's a possibility.

Gord,

Sounds great :)

Have OKed it with the missus (I've discovered that it's best to check with her before commiting myself to diving arrangements)!

What sort of time do you normally go at (I presume we're talking a L. Long site: CA itself or another)? I may have to look after the kids until about 6pm, so could be on site for 8ish... any use?

Gord
23-08-06, 12:45

I / we'll meet you at Conger Alley at 8pm. I'm sure Ding will join us?

Anyone else.

Great :)

At least one other member of our club is coming along too.

Would be great if Ding was able to bring along his Light Cannon with diffuser for a demo. My UK D4R isn't much use for lighting video and photos at night: it tends to oversaturate everything. I was wondering if I could use a diffuser on it

8pm at Conger Alley on Thu 31 Aug: we'll see you there :p

P.S. I've added it to the calendar

Wish I lived closer to L.Long & L.Fyne:(

Charlie, how long does it take you to get to Loch Long from Stirling?
(I can do Stirling in under an hour via Alloa)

On the plus side, i'm off to Lochaline the next day for a long weekend of diving! (you will be looking forward to that too Charlie! - i'll try not to stir up the silt in the Sound of Mull too much! )

Cheers

Hi Craig,

It takes roughly 90 min to get from Stirling to Arrochar (traffic dependent)

I'm sure you'll have a great time in the Sound :)

Just make sure that there are some wrecks left for us on the following weekend... and some beer

See you soon.

Hi Gord
does it not say in the training manual after 2 or 3 dives in the sound, chicken in a bun at the pier and at least 6 pints of the golden liquid and 2 tequila slammers should be consumed in the social club?
