Olddogs photog rig.

I have been making a few changes to my photog rig. I shoot an Oly C-7070 in a PT 027 housing. I was lighting with a Sunpack strobe until a few dives back when I inadvertently flooded it. My plans are now to upgrade to a high end Inon unit when funds allow.

My latest additions are a set of 65 mm threaded close up diopters.

They are simple lenses that add onto the front of your primary lens that allow closer and greater magnification. You will get the idea how they work from the short video clip.

The camera was set to macro mode and close focused you can see how the dioper allows the closer focus. They will never be optically as good quality as a dedicated macro lens but aren't bad at twenty quid a set on e-bay. If you get a set go for ED glass construction as other materials don’t refract as well underwater.

I have also purchased a pair of 44 LED focus/macro light units. I will post a report shortly on them as they are a real good buy

Very impressed with these little babies. They pump out a nice wide even beam of 6000k+ daylight wave length that photographs well. 210 lux each and a well designed unit for the price of £35 each. Would make a good stand alone dive light for this output and price. Had one next to a Fiami unit that cost £150 and it blasted it away with crisp clear daylight.

Unfortunately no the flexi arms are about £20- 40 each depending on length. They also sell the tray that fit these arms on that web/s.

The clamp bolt is included.

Just starting to build a rig similar to yours, however how do you fix the lenses on, do you have an adapter?

Your housing needs to have a filter thread.
