I had a load more pictures, but the dive was only 7.8m deep, and i was struggling to maintain a stable position with being shallow, holding a camera, trying not to stir up sand nor damage any soft coral...

Seahorses are also very shy, and well camoflaged.

Great pics.

They are so cute. I'd love to see a seahorse.

Not quite on par with seeing them in their natural habitat but the Sea Life Aquarium in Balloch / Shore front centre has a nursery for seahorses, they're quite beautiful (when you can find them). I spent a good 15mins trying to get some good photos (without flash of course) much to my other half's displeasure. Will hoke the pics out and drop a few on my flickr page.

A most wonderous graceful creature.
Andy the pictures and wee vid' are incredible, well
done to get those so clear...

And to think they can propel themselves so quickly
by just a wee dorsal fin on lower back and pectoral
fins located on their heads next to their gills.

Thanks for those Andy, it would be amazing to dive with seahoses!!

I just remembered that we had sea horses in the pet shop that I used to have a Sat job in.

I'm sure they were kept in the goldfish tank (but I might be wrong) they weren't in for long as I only seen them for one day, but they where about 3/4" long and gorgeous.
