Ding, lovely pics. I'll add the ones you sent me to the A Frames divesite. Do you have an UW map/sketch of A Frames/Finnart? Alex

What type of camera do you have
What type of camera do you have
An Olympus 8080 I think its a good camera. Ideally I would get a DSLR but a cheap DSLR setup would be 3 thousand so I will stick with the oly. :)

Excellent photo's. I have a photo of the same bit of rock /concrete as in the first photo, but it is a bit more green and dark. Typical Finart dive, Dark, poor vis and green.
I suppose it is just you luck when it comes to vis. I dived Finart last year on a Wednesday evening and had about 10m visibility. Dived Conger Alley the following Saturday and could hardly see my hand in front of me. I know different site on different date, but it is the same bit of water, I did not think the vis would have changed so much in such a short time.
I suppose it all adds to the appeal of diving!
Thanks,
/Colin. :D

Some of us have been noting when we get good viz at conger alley. What was the tide state, had it been raining ect, to try and predict when we will get good viz. Its work in progress.
re. Viz theories: Dived yesterday at Anchor point. It was glass calm all day. First dive (high ebb) we had 8m+, 2nd dive (still ebbing) we had 4-5m. The only factors which could have influenced the viz were a) the state of the ebb tide (carrying gunk?) or b) the rain which started to fall while we were on teh first dive and continued throughout hte surface interval.
I'm thinking "dirty rain" ... (was that a song by Prince?)

Think it was 'Purple Rain'. Just had a great weekend in Oban. I did the Breda, even the swim throughs. I was a bit apprehensive after reading the piece on 'Conger' but I was fine. Did a nice 'squattie collecting' dive 48 mins. Happy buoyancy and blue water ascent. No probs. I'm happy again:D :D :D

In case u have not see a dublin bay prawn its 250mm long and can usually be found at approx 30m on a flat sea bed.
They sit at the entrance to a hole with an entrance and exit about 700mm apart.
You're gettin good at this macro stuff!
That particular boy would look even better, though, steamed and smothered in butter with a splash of lemon juice ;)
