I don't think the Glasgiw Fair will have much effect on Loch Fyne and Loch Long these days. I am sure most folks go abroad nowadays. The golf is on though and tomorrow Balloch highland Games are also on!:(
The viz in loch long and Fyne has been 10m+ with plenty of fish surprized there has been so few divers !!! :D

Oh dear, puns 'r' us
As for diving puns, my favorite is
'deep penetration available on request' - seems to attract attention when on a t-shirt!

Anybody been diving the lochs or is it just me that goes there now
the viz in the last week or so has been 8-10m pretty good. I have
seen shoals of saith pollack and mackeral. Cant remember seeing
so many fish.
Do u think its global warming or fishing restrictions?
Lookin forward to our night dive next thursday if this viz holds!!:)

I saw on the box this morning the water quality is the best its been since they started testing. only one beach failed the water quality test. Maybe thats why I'm seeing so many fish this year.
Had a nice couple of dives at Anchor Bay today. Viz was OK, not spectacular (~5m). Some big fish about as you say, Ding.
Roll on Thursday :)

Yeah - i saw that too. But i think it's just a summer thing. Less run-off = less stour. We'll see in the autumn!
Whats the diving in the sea lochs like these days If I had a computer I'd go and see myself. Are there still shoals of fish about or have they left?

Ding,
I'll speak to my buddy and find out if we are doing one or two dives. This will give me a better idea of what time we will be finished at. Will be heading up after work leaving Johnstone at approx 15:30 and be onsite for about 16:45.
This might be a bit of a stupid question, but where is the Village Inn? :o I take it it is in Arrocher? Is this the "site" on the same side and just up from the shop?
/Colin.
i dont have an u/w camera at present, still peed off since i flooded my last one.
(nikon coolpix 4100) but i still use it as a paperweight, sitting by my P.C. as i write this.
ohh..& the warranty just ran out on that also  but i dont hink expalining this would have been easy.
i do have an u/w birchley video housing with panasonic NV-DS5 camera.
just a pity i cant afford the lights to go with it at present.
for sale:-
nikon coolpix 4100, great camera, one careless owner.:(
can u not claim on your house insurance, it worked for me :)

you just spurned me to read the document & it looks like it could be covered if the red sea ran through my house.
all i need is a reason for it being corroded with salt water within my house.
any ideas?
also stumbled over a section which covers my scuba gear, just so long as its not in use!
It fell in the sink who knows the diff between salt and the stuff u fling in the sink?

Well seen you don't do the washing up Ding. Salt water v Dish water ...?? Think they might know the difference:D
how about this...
i was taking a picture of my potatoes boiling when i suddenly slipped on some salt which must have landed on the floor as i was salting the potatoes.
think they will buy it?
it might be more realistic if i suggested my other half was taking the picture as me near a cooker would be a kodak moment.

Airmonster,
The Village Inn is in Arrochar on the A814 going south towards Finnart. It is past The Pit Stop Diner by about half a mile and is also past the Teigness Stores (I think). There are obvious road signs for 'The Village Inn' as you're driving towards it. Its set back from the road and plenty of parking around it.
The forecast is poor for today because of some big low, that's left over from a hurricane, about to reach us. Heavy heavy rain and high winds expected. Ding and I will decide at 5.30 pm if we're going out.
Comletely different topic. Did I see you post on another site that you knew the name of the 'Two Piers & Small reef' as 'The lifeboat' - please let me know as I'm keen to incorporate as many AKAs (Also Known As) into the site descriptions. Any other 'new names' for any of the sites described?.

Typical. I organise to go diving and weather is forecast to be one of the worst days of the year. , still as they say, "Your going to get wet anyway" :p

You certainly did! I first dived this site back in June 2002 and know it as "The Lifeboat" for obvious reasons. Dived it a few times but only managed to find the "boat" (now thats a joke!) on a few occasions. Always found it to be a dark poor vis dive. May be its just the times I chose to dive it.
I'll have a look at the other dive site descriptions and see if I know any of them by different names.

No diving for me for a while as a cold, no dive computer and camera strobe not working is putting my brakes on. Oh and bad weather. ;)
Will have to post some old pictures
