Friends of mine recently had dolphins playing in the wake of their yacht just between Largs and Great Cumbrae.

Help please.
How do I get the picture on?:(

You need to put the image on the web, somewhere like photobucket. When you have done that the photo is at a web address. You copy this address. Back here you start a posting and press the button that looks like the sun over some mountains - insert image - and it gives you a pop up where you paste the web address you got above.

You can short cut that too, but I can only be bothered expalining one way.

I thought there was a guide to it here, but couldn't find it or the one I remeber from SD. If none of the above makes any sense I'm sure one of the nerds (Chris, over to you :D ) will give a more comprehensive answer.

Photobucket or picasso are the best sort of sites if you are going to be hosting pictures, I think you can upload a file through this forum though, check somewhere around the start of photography

Register with the site at www.photobucket.com

Create a subfolder eg CA photos

Pick a name for the photo or series of photos you want to upload - this is important as if you change the name you 'break' all the links you then create to sites such as these, so the photo will no longer display.

Upload the photo or photos into the subfolder.

You may have to make the photo size smaller to upload. Use Irfanview which is free photomanipulation software using the Resize/Resample option in the dropdown menu from the header 'Image' I usually resize to being 640 x 480 pixels or even half of that. http://www.photo-freeware.net/irfanview.php

At the bottom of the series of names on the uploaded photo is a name called IMG code. Clicking on it copies the code and you can then paste it directly into your Conger Alley post.

So a photobucket IMG code (which I have slightly doctored so you see it)

Displays as

On the Arran ferry a few years back, heading to a repair job in Brodick, I saw a dolphin leap out the water and splash belly first back in, in stunned excitment I pointed and motioned to everyone on deck to look, but unfortunately everyone was looking the other way and merely thought I was some nutter (which turned out to be very accurate).

out last friday, I was looking out one side of the boat for my lost blob and kept spotting a seal, reckon he had burst my blob and was teasing me, however everyone on the side of the boat were screaming whale or dolphin, but everytim I looked it simply looked liked a sharp wave. I have very good eyesight and it was very choppy, I reckon everyone was just a bit excited, Peter didnt spot anything and the Skipper didnt say a word! Didnt find the blob either, so if anyone finds a self sealing blob floating in the north sea with CHRISR written on it its mine.

I was sailing round Wee Cumbrae last night. We had two dolphins (that is what the skipper identified them as) circle around the yacht before heading south. :)

Shog,

Look at my post on Alan & my Cenote Trip in January this year. There are more photos like that one  .

Claire also posted a cenote video - it was one we did not visit.

Both Ding and Lizardland have also dived in Mexico.

Saw 3 dolphins of Largs again on the 26-4-09.
They came past the boat twice but did not say around to be photographed.

Also saw porpoise in upper Loch Fyne East St Cats, they were heading South.
