What do u think? I like by changing the opacity of the bottom jelly the tenticles of the top one are over the top. I have left a bit at the bottom right not done so you can see its two pictures.

Very impressive, Ding. You're quite a whizz kid with PhotoShop!

Are there any ends to your talent? :p

I like this picture cos it looks real

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j62/johnnicolson/Temp%20folder/Conger.jpg

There is movement in the water and the colours are good the fin is not quite real its to black
I will have to lighten or add white to it. I thought black would be more menacing...but it does
not look right..Also the light is comming from the right so the right of the fin needs highlights..

My strobe stoped working at depth where the sturgeon was but I took this picture

Original

I took the above picture and tweaked it in Adobe

I used a pretty low tech approach.

I only have Photoshop Elements 2.0 (Mickey Mouse version, but still quite good) and don't have access to most of the tools mentioned in the tutorial, so I improvise a little:

My usual protocol is:

Try "Enhance > Auto Levels": sometimes this works nicely, but other times (such as with your sturgeon) it doesn't look quite right ;) and I have to "Undo" it:
http://staff.stir.ac.uk/charles.mcgurk/diving/temp/Sturgeon[autolevels].jpg

I then try "Enhance > Auto Colo(u)r Correction": it usually improves things a bit:
http://staff.stir.ac.uk/charles.mcgurk/diving/temp/Sturgeon[autocolour].jpg

I then try "Enhance > Adjust Color > Color Cast" and click areas of the picture with the dropper tool until it looks good:

Sometimes (as with this one) that's enough, other times I have to touch up colour (hue/saturation) and brightness/contrast levels.
Basically, I just muck about with it until it looks reasonable: not very scientific but usually quite successful.

I was looking for pictures of divers to put here and found a Picture of urchin but it had tons of backscatter...
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j62/johnnicolson/Temp%20folder/P5274352.jpg

So I had to learn how to get rid of back scatter. I found a website by Herb Segars, It had tons of great info.

Will put this on divelinks...

Think the first pic is better even with the scatter. The second one looks out of focus especially her face.
