I'm bored so it's time for a new poll.

What fitting do you have on your 1st stage(s)?

A-Clamp
232 Bar DIN
300 bar DIN

I've got 300bar DIN on all my regs. Means you can use them on anything.

Like Lizardland I am the same. Is there any point in having anything else???

well if you dive with 232 bar cylinders and you get a deal on 232 bar DIN fitting regs, i see no issue.
i do use 300 bar DIN fittings also.

A'clamp should win this poll...

300 bar din fitting as well for as it fits both ratings and got the a-clamp converter if ever needed.

I have got 2 12l cylinders, one 232 bar and the other 300 bar. Although you get more air in the 300 bar (well, duh I hear you say), I am not terribly sure I would recomend this to anyone or do the same again.

300 Bar din, again because they fit any cylinder that i'm ever going to use and i would not use a-clamp for anything.

As a basic scuby-do merchant, I've always used A-clamp. No problems ever :)

Likewise - I'd never even heard of DIN until I got back into diving last year. Seems like a good setup but I've already got the A-clamp reg and tanks and it works fine.

And probably never will, like most seals, if you maintain the pressure on it then it stays in place. You only really get problems with A-clamp if you turn the valve off, depressurise the reg and then switch it back on which is unlikely underwater (and why o-rings always blow when you've just turned the air on). If it holds at the start of the dive then it'll still be holding at the end.

If you really batter a 1st stage or a clamp then you can dislodge the o-ring but it takes a lot of effort.

i have seen 3 burst, or rather heard them... then looked.
on all 3 occasions it was after a jump entry.
2 in the pool (instant), 1 in Egypt at 5m on the way down.
made a nice jacuzzi though.

1 a clamp and 1 232 din
Currently using both on my twin set whilst awaiting a conversion to make them both DIN

232 A-clamp on my main regs, (Apeks TX 100 & TX 40 octo), 232 DIN on my 3litre pony (also with TX40). Found A's to be better protected against sand/muck ingress! Just my opinion you understand!:D My compressor is set to 230 BAR so I only need 232Bar Tanks/bottles/things you keep your 'air in...!;)

Incedently I've got 300 bar DIN.

It just so happens that this is what I got when a got a load of kit 2nd hand. But glad I did ;) :D

Since baught T2T's pony as it was 300 Bar and obviously ordered 300 bar DIN reg.

My original Aqualung 1st stage is A-clamp as that's what everyone used in our club. I've bought DIN since then for my pony reg, 2nd twin set reg & my wife's regs (I think that they're all 300 bar rated but have never used a 300 bar cylinder).

Never had any problem with any of them yet.
