Hello.
Two cracking dives last night. The first dive was Earnie, Shog69 and me. Tried to navigate to Cathedral rock and couldn't find it. I think I pointed a bit to close inshore. "Retraced" our steps to get back but got a bit lost and had to pop up to see where we were. But we had a good 74min rummage about. Lots of lobsters out, and I mean out walking, first time I'd seen that. Lots of Ballen Wrasse some of which are looking huge. Still had a bit of air left on our return so we headed out to Big Green Carr and swam through it. We were aiming for the amphitheatre but I can't resist a nice crack  We met a bunch of folk going into snorkel Cathedral Rock. After I explained that we couldn't find it he said (in a Newcastle accent) "it's easy, it that one there *points*" Cheers
The 2nd dive was just me and Earnie (Shog69 was showing signs of thumb pressure on the forehead :D ) It was my first dive with my newly obtained single 15L. It ham fisted worked out that I needed an extra 2kg. Decided that we would try for Cathedral again but surface swim half way there (OK, maybe I did listen to the snorkeler). Got half way, had a good bearing then decided to go down..... but couldn't. Bawbag her didn't do a weight check  So we headed back to the shore side of Broad Craig and I showed Earnie the delights of Nudi's and had general potter about at 0.5m  Neither of us even mentioned walking back to the car for more weight :D But I did finally manage get my breathing shallow enough to get down long enough to fill my pockets with rocks. So we headed of round Broad Craig, it was starting to get a bit dark and there where a lot more lobsters out for a prowl. Some fish where starting to nestle down for the night as well. We also happened across the crack that runs through Broad Craig the was mentioned here (http://www.congeralley.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7628&postcount=4). Didn't see any angler fish though. We got about 3/4 of the way round when I was starting to feel a bit positive again. So did my safety stop (holding on to kelp just in case) and headed of again, but right enough a few minutes later I popped up to find it really was getting dark now. By the time we got and back to the car it was officially night diving light.
All in all a good couple of dives. I did manage to leave my jacket in the pub mind you :o Just need to go back to pick it up ;)
Cheers to Earnie and Shog69 for the dives.
