View Full Version : Are these any good?
Does anyone know if these are any good??
fleabay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300134452912&rd=1&rd=1)
waterproof to 20m...!!
but what about the ATA pressure on your camera buttons?
will they still be operational or will they all depress & lock down?
i think i would only put a similar priced camera in to it.
if you do buy one, take it down empty a few times to test it out.
Looks like a step up from a zip lock freezer bag!!!! would I trust £500 worth of pride and joy to that....... I think not.
I've read reviews of these sort of cases that stated that they're pretty good at preventing leaks, but hydrostatic pressure on the buttons is their limiting factor as stew pointed out.
Yep. The water presses all the buttons. OK for splash proofing/snorkelling

£15.99 seems much too cheap to be true! All previous posts are worth remembering, plus, the guarantee doesn't exactly say that your camera will WORK at 20m, it just seems to imply that it won't LEAK @ 20m! (see Olddog's response.) However, if it works then let me know!:D
terms and conditions as stated in the small print.
"The warranty does not extend to the electronic equipment that is used or which incorporates with any of our products and accessories" :(
that is what I thought, I have a 5 or 6 year old canon ixus and I am looking to get a housing on fleabay when I came across these, as stated might be good for the beach on holiday or snorkelling.
Thanks for the input, confirmed my thoughts!
I think these 'housings' normally have a depth limit of 10m.
I took a cheapo lidl camera down to 30M which was rated to 15M to see what would happen,it stayed dry but the button went inside it
